Claudius II Gothicus, 268-270. Medallion of 8 aurei (Gold, 38 mm, 38.57 g, 6 h), Mediolanum (Milan), September 268. IMP•C•M•AVR•L•CLAVDIVS•P•F•AVG• Laureate and cuirassed bust of Claudius II to right, wearing an aegis over his left shoulder. Rev. CONCORD-IA•EX-ERCITVS• Concordia standing facing, her head turned to right, holding two standards, each surmounted by a legionary eagles looking back toward each other. RIC 1 var. RIC V Online 1. RN 1980 p. 98, 24 and Trésors Monétaires XXIV (2011), 55 (this coin). Vagi 2376. Very rare. A well-struck and attractive example. Rough surfaces and some edge bangs, otherwise, very fine.
