FLORENTIA MART City-Goddess standing facing, head turned to left, holding patera in her outstretched right hand and a flower in her left. C. Unique, and of great historical and numismatic importance. Well struck and centered, lovely ebony patina. Holed, otherwise, about extremely fine.

Recently published by Clare Rowan, this unique and historically important token appears to be the first 'coin' minted by the colony of Florentia, modern day Florence. This is the earliest coin to name one of Italy's most renowned cities.
