Divus Augustus, died AD 14. As (Bronze, 30 mm, 11.19 g, 6 h), struck under Tiberius, Rome, 22/3-30. DIVVS • AVGVSTVS • PATER Radiate head of the deified Augustus to left. Rev. PROVIDENT Altar with double-paneled doors; across fields, S-C. BMC 146 (Tiberius). BN 132 (Tiberius). Cohen 228. RIC² 81 (Tiberius). Well centered on an unusually broad flan; beautiful red-brown patina. Nearly extremely fine.
