GAUL. Massalia. Circa 500-470 BC. Hemiobol (Silver, 8 mm, 0.59 g), Auriol Type. Male (?) head facing. Rev. Irregular incuse square. F/Py OBA-L. Furtwängler L19 (A11/R7). LT I, 48. Maurel 33. Of exceptionally fine quality for the type, with a perfectly centered obverse and a pleasing old cabinet tone. Extremely fine.

From the Apollo to Apollo collection, acquired in Montpellier on 3 November 2013, and said to be from the Auriol find (including an old French ticket).
