PHLIASIA. Phlious. Circa 520-480 BC. Myshemihekte or 1/24th Stater (Electrum, 6.5 mm, 0.64 g). Human leg and foot to right. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Cf. BCD Phlious 78-80 (but in silver). HGC 5, 134. Seltman 311 (attributed to the Alkmaionid exiles from Athens in Phokis). Very rare and historically exciting. Minor edge breaks, otherwise, very fine.

Although this electrum issue is commonly treated as coming from an uncertain mint in Asia Minor, the use of the leg obverse type, which is quite similar to those early obols and hemiobols of Phlious, makes the attribution to that city seem very likely.
