ATTICA. Athens. Circa 454-404 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 17.20 g, 11 h), circa 430s BC. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet ornamented with three olive leaves above the visor and a palmette on the bowl, round earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing right, head facing; in upper left field, olive spray and crescent; all within an incuse square. Dewing 1591-8. HGC 4, 1597. Kroll 8. SNG Copenhagen 31. Attractive golden toning; sharp and lustrous. Extremely fine.
