[ΟΙΚΙΜΤΑΜ] Youthful Herakles seated left on rock covered by his lion skin, holding branch in his right hand and long club in his left; to left, altar; to right, bow and quiver; in exergue, two fish swimming towards each other. THRACE, Abdera. Circa 450-425 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 14.47 g 5), magistrate Pythinnes. Griffin seated to left, right foreleg raised; to left, bee, moving downwards to right, seen from above. Rev. ΕΠΙ ΠΥΟΙΝΝΕΩ (sic !) around a linear quadripartite square; all within shallow incuse square. Cf. May 151 (struck from the same reverse die but with the bee on the obverse seen in profile). Extremely rare, if not unique. Nicely toned and very well struck in high relief. Extremely fine.

Thompson 43. A lovely piece with an elegant portrait of Alexander; nicely toned. Nearly extremely fine.

THESSALY, Larissa. Circa 356-342 BC. Stater (Silver, 12.33 g 12). Head of the nymph Larissa facing, turned slightly to the left, wearing ampyx, pendant earring, and simple necklace. Rev. ΛΑΡΙ - Σ / ΑΙΩΝ Bridled horse trotting to right, with curly tail. Lorber, Staters Series A, O3/R4. A lovely example, toned and well struck in good silver. Reverse slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.

LOKRIS, Lokris Opuntii. Circa 356-338 BC. Stater (Silver, 11.95 g 9). Head of Demeter to right, wearing wreath of wheat leaves, pearl necklace and elaborate, ‘boat’-pendant earring. Rev. ΟΠΟΝΤΩΝ Ajax, nude but for helmet, advancing right, hold short sword in his right hand and, with his left, a shield decorated with a griffin rushing right on the inside; between Ajax’s legs, long transverse spear with point upwards. ARGOLIS, Kleonai. Circa 490-470 BC. Twelfth Stater (Silver, 1.11 g 4). Forepart of lion to right, with open jaws and extended paw; border of dots. Rev. Crestless Corinthian helmet to right within incuse square. BCD Peloponnesos 1313. Extremely rare, one of only a very few pieces known. Toned and uncleaned as found, nearly extremely fine.
ARKADIA, Alea. Circa 390-370 BC. Obol (Silver, 0.91 g 7). Head of Artemis to right, wearing triple pendant earring and with her hair in a bun at the back Rev. ΑΛ Bow. BCD Peloponnesos 1346. BMC 1. SNG Copenhagen 213. Weber 4267. Very rare. Toned and most attractive. Some slight roughness, otherwise, about extremely fine.
ARKADIA, Heraia. Circa 350 BC. Obol (Silver, 0.85 g 2). Head of Artemis to left, her hair tied in a knot at the top of her head, wearing a pendant earring, and with her quiver at her shoulder. Rev. H with straight sides over bow to right. BCD Peloponnesos 1366 = Pozzi (Boutin) 4329 (this coin). Traité III, 1014, pl. CCXXVIII, 15 (same dies). Extremely rare and of beautiful style. Good very fine.
ARKADIA, Kleitor. Circa 370-350 BC. Obol (Silver, 0.95 g 6). Helmeted head of Athena to right, cheek piece raised; behind, Α. Rev. ΚΛΗ (retrograde) Bridled horse galloping to right with trailing rein. BCD 1421 (same dies). BMC 7 var. SNG Copenhagen 220 (same dies). Very rare. In exceptionally fine condition and with minimal die rust on the obverse. Extremely fine.
ARKADIA, Pheneos. Circa 370-340 BC. Obol (Silver, 0.92 g 7). Bust of youthful Hermes to right, his cloak tied around his neck and with his petasos hanging behind, suspended by a cord. Rev. ARKADIA. Stymphalos. Circa 350 BC. Obol (Silver, 10 mm, 0.92 g, 3 h). Head of Herakles in lion skin headdress to right. Rev. ΣΤΥΜΦΑΛΙΟΝ (retrograde) Head of water bird to right. BCD 1703. SNG Copenhagen 286. Very rare. A very attractive coin with a remarkably detailed bird head on the reverse. Some slight roughness in the die, otherwise, virtually as struck.
CYCLADES, Keos. Karthaia. Late 3rd-early 2nd century BC. Dichalkon (Bronze, 19mm, 6.09 g 9). Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. Κ Α Ρ Forepart of a dog within rays to left; below, bee to left. PAPHLAGONIA, Sinope. Circa 410-350 BC. Drachm (Silver, 6.09 g 6). Head of a nymph to left, her hair bound in a sakkos; behind, ΝΙ. Rev. ΣΙΝΩ Sea eagle, with open wings standing left on dolphin swimming to left; above eagle to right, ΕΚΑ. SNG BM Black Sea 1392. SNG Copenhagen Suppl. 293. Very rare. Of unusually fine style and attractively toned. Nearly extremely fine.
BITHYNIA, Kios. Circa 340-330. Stater (Gold, 8.59 g 11), signed by the magistrate Agasikles. Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΑΓΑΣΙΚΛΗΣ Prow of war galley to left, ornamented with a star; above, club to right; to left, traces of eagle (?, mostly off the flan) standing to left. Rec. Gén. p. 311. Extremely rare, one of perhaps ten known staters of Kios, almost all of which are in museums. Traces of double-striking on the reverse and a few insignificant marks, otherwise, lustrous, sharp and, virtually as struck.

IONIA. Teos. Circa 440-420 BC. Stater (Silver, 11.99 g). Griffin with left foreleg raised, seated to right on ground line over an egg and dart frieze; to right, duck seated to right. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Balcer 101. BMFA 1939. A lovely coin struck in high relief. Some very slight porosity, otherwise. Extremely fine.

Attractive, toned and well struck. Some uncleaned horn silver adhering to the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.

PAMPHYLIA, Side. Circa 430-400 BC. Stater (Silver, 10.71 g 3). Pomegranate with its flower below. Rev.
