EASTERN EUROPE, Eravisci. Late 1st century BC, or later. Denarius (Silver, 16 mm, 3.33 g, 2 h), imitating Republican denarii of C. Naevius Balbus and L. Papius, both of 79 BC. Diademed head of Venus to right. Rev. Griffin springing right; below, globe or pellet. CCCBM I 280 (same dies). Davis Class B, Group II. Freeman 14/J, pl. 29, 20 (same dies). Lanz -. Light toned with subtle iridescent hues of green and blue. Worn dies as normally found, otherwise, about very fine.
