CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 380-325 BC. Diobol (Silver, 13 mm, 0.99 g, 12 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing Attic helmet adorned with a hippocamp; [H below chin]. Rev. TAPANTINΩN Herakles standing to right, fighting the Nemean lion; to left, club; between Herakles's legs, Α. HN III 914. Vlasto 1289 corr. (monogram read as Δ). A splendid example, very well-centered and of the finest style. Nearly extremely fine.
