THESSALY, Krannon. First half of the 4th century BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 12mm, 2.26 g 5). Heads of Thessalos and horse to right, as last, from the same die. Rev. ΚΡΑ Head and neck of bull to right, head facing front; to right, kerykeion. Apparently unpublished. Unique? A lovely coin with a fine black patina. Extremely fine.

A note from BCD: The centering of the reverse does not allow us to see it clearly, but a trident, Poseidon’s trident, and not a kerykeion, is the obvious choice for the reverse symbol on this coin.BCD may be right, as almost always, but I seem to see a curved part on this symbol. This curvature occurs because the symbol is practically on the edge of the flan.
