KINGS of MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25mm, 14.48 g 12), Pella, c. 336/5-329/8. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Nude jockey on horse prancing to left, holding long palm branch in his right hand; below horse, kantharos. Haeberlin Collection 1937, 13 = pl. VI, 13 (this coin). Le Rider 344f (this coin, taken from a cast in Berlin). A lovely and attractively toned piece of very fine style. Minor scratch on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
